Movies and Drinking/Eating
by Matt on Jun.30, 2010, under Blogs
Good day to you all, how are we doing this week?
Last Wednesday was very pleasant, well the after work bit, the at work bit was its usual tedious self. I met P at West India Quay (part of Canary Wharf for those that do not know where it is, but would like to) as we were going to go to the movies. We however were early so (and here is where Chuckles fast forwards) surprise, surprise we went to get something to eat. We went to a place called Noodle Street which is really nice, they do quite simple dishes but it taste good. They also have this amazing fruit juice, apple, mint and lime, its really tasty and refreshing. We then headed to the movies, we were seeing Get Him to the Greek, which I was not sure about, being of the opinion that Russell Brand was funny but it’s a bit worn now. I was very surprised as it is a really funny movie and very entertaining, though it has to be said that P Diddy (is that what he is calling himself these days?) completely stole the show and was the highlight. I would definitely say go see it if you fancy a laugh.
Last Friday I went for a quick drink at Quintessentially Soho, which I have taken to calling
Qunity, no reason other than its easier to type and say, with my friend who works there, was quite fun as I like it there and they do the best chips ever, even P agrees that the chips are fantastic. I the headed East (doesn’t that sound so much more exotic than it actually is!) as was meeting P to go to movies again (last week I was desperately trying to catch up on movies, does it show?). We went to see Wild Target, which was rather amusing if a little, okay a lot, predictable, entertaining though and worth a look at.
Saturday morning saw me up and getting Milo ready as it was his day for the groomers as he
needed his shower and hair cut, and his nails certainly needed cutting, my arms can testify to that. When we got there he was his usual self, refused to go in the salon, so I had to pick him up and carry him in, as he
demonstrated that yes indeed his claws did need trimming. The groomer is excellent and did an amazing job he is also good with Milo as he was actually not leaping out of the shower as if acid was pouring on him, he just stood there, albeit shivering and whimpering as if he were taking a beating. He then did his usual of crying for the whole hour his hair was being cut, he really does make a meal out of it and any situation a drama, cant think where he gets that trait from!
P was working last Saturday so I decided to go see a movie, it’s a task for P to go as doesn’t like them as much as I do. So I went and saw the new Shrek movie in 3D. The 3D and effects are really good and nice to watch, but the movie was pretty boring, its run its course now I think and so it just isn’t anywhere near as good as the previous ones. It wasn’t funny, was predictable and you just sit there, well I did, waiting for something to happen, alas nothing does.
After the movie I had a text from a good friend asking if that Little P and I wanted to meet, at West India Quay, for a drink, which was quite handy as that’s where the cinema is. So off I went on the trek, across the road. It’s a couple that we were meeting, one of whom I had not seen for a very long time, it was rather good to catch up. We all had a good time, well I hope we all did, I did.
Sunday P and I decided that we were going to for a bike ride as it was so hot. When its hot Milo will not go out as he gets too hot with his fur coat on so just wants to sit on the bed with the fan, which he has assumed belongs to him and is there for his sole use. So we went to our best friends place as that is where p keeps his bike, don’t ask! I cycled there and P went on the DLR as we were leaving Milo with our best friend. I had to first inflate the tyres on his bike, he uses it so little that they were flat!!! We eventually headed off to Hyde Park, P likes it there. When we got there it was nice as we just chilled (I fell asleep at one point) we ate fruit salad that P had brought and nice bits, sunbathed and just watched the world go by. Isn’t it awful that we rarely get to just sit and relax. Its one of the main reasons that I hate London so much, its all so rushed and hurried. We cycled back as well, with P moaning about how hard it was and the saddle was hurting him. But in fairness he hadn’t cycled for a while so it cant have been easy. We have said we will cycle more often, which I hope we stick to.
In the evening we had to get everything from out of our bedroom and into the living room as we were having new wardrobes installed on the Monday. What a job that was, its incredible how much junk you build up isn’t it, we ended up throwing about 4 bin bags of things away. Milo was pacing back and forth (following the fan!!!) as every time we get the suitcase from off the wardrobe we are going away so he got it into his head that we were off on holiday (if only) and leaving him with our friend. So he was getting all anxious.
Monday was quite eventful. I had tickets to go and see the Phil Collins television show. I was going with Emma, Buzzy and the friend I hadn’t talked to for a while. The show was quite a
disappointment as he didn’t do any of his hits, apart from two, didn’t sing In the Air (which was the one I wanted to hear) and his suit was too baggy and looked crumpled and worn. We also had to stand which didn’t help. On the plus side it was good to se Emma, even though she was hung-over. Great to see Buzzy, who used her bra as a handbag, talk about making a tit of yourself, thank the lord I didn’t need to use her BB!!!! She was her usual buzzing self which is always good, and looked lovely in a purple number (I swear it made her boobies look bigger).
Then when I got home, as if by magic, all the wardrobes, chest of drawers (so it was a night of chests) and bedside cabinet were up, its lovely to have wardrobes at last and have my suits, shirts and our clothes in proper places rather than hanging on racks. P had been an angel (yes I know as usual) and done most of the work before I got there, and as ever had done a brilliant job. Though I do wish that we had more time to spend together, because of our jobs and the fact we are busy, we rarely get to spend any real quality time together and it I so nice when I just get to relax and chill with him, he really is an exceptional person, the best guy I have ever known and lets be honest he deserves a medal, or five, for putting up with me, yet he never stops caring or thinking of how to make us happy. So my only wish would be to spend more time doing things together.
Boom was amazing this week, it was also Chuckles birthday, so that made it extra special, a extra special Boom for a extra special persons extra special birthday. Even if he doesn’t mention me enough on the show!!!!!
Until next week adios.

interest in that whatsoever, bright idea hit me, lets go to Quintessentially Soho, they wont be playing it was my amazing idea. So off P and I went there. When we got there to my horror and (ironically) P’s delight they had a screen in every room. So I sat and played on my Blackberry until it was over. Then some of our friends (one of whom was Buzzy, who needed to tell me all about her conquest of last week, yum yum) joined us and I proceeded to get very drunk and make a complete idiot of myself, why do I do it? Why don’t I stop when I am just happily drunk? Still at least I don’t do it that often anymore. Had a good night though.BOOM! and Race for Life

the modern world for you, and I just wanted to mention that he is a master of many talents, but one that he excels in is entertainment. I have been none too happy of late (its all work treated) and yet no matter how down I am he always cheers me up, all I need do is grab my earphones, or turn the speakers on, and listen to him doing what he does. If you need such a lift, or just want to be entertained then you too can get his show, its called BOOM! and you can subscribe at iTunes or at www.bohica2k.com And say a hello to the amazing Chuckles from me when you do.
picture of health, well he is if your picture is slightly overweight. Apparently the vet is under the impression that he could lose a bit of weight. I really cant see it myself as he looks very healthy. But when he is on this diet he is a nightmare as he sits looking at you all puppy eyed if you even think about food, he races as if he were on fire when anyone walks into the kitchen. You would think we were starving him the way he acts.
there alone for this one as that Buzzy was too lazy to get up, and made the pitiful excuse that she couldn’t get out of her volunteering to clear up dog pooh. So off I went alone into the day. As regular readers (and I know you can count those on one hand) will attest I do these Race for Life’s quite often, well four or five times a year, I volunteer as cant race as am not a woman, though it has been hotly debated in the past. I actually really enjoy doing them, I help to set the course up and then I usually get the task of being a course marshal, which sounds very official but meant that I stand out on the course in a florescent yellow (that manages to clash with everything I wear, even my skin) vest and watch thousands of women run, walk, crawl past. But it is great fun and I would highly recommend it to anyone. If any of you would like to volunteer at the next one then please get in touch. Not only is it a really good cause but on top of that its really good fun to do.A Short Week

office even if was for just a short period. Then in the evening I was back there again as was meeting a friend for a drink, well we met at the Edge, I met P there first then our friend came, half an hour late!!!! We then headed over the road to the club. It was nice as we could just sit on the couches and chill out whilst drinking. P ordered some bar food and I have to say the chips were really tasty and I don’t normally like chips at all. Later our friends girlfriend joined us and we had not met her before but its safe to safe (because he doesn’t read this blog) that she is far to good for him. We managed to drink three bottles, or four, I forget, but when the bill came they had only charged for one, bonus.
Spitalfields which was okay. We looked around a bit, had coffee, where Milo decided that he would sit and beg at every table that remotely had a view of him. I don’t know why he bothered as he knows he doesn’t have dairy products or chocolate so couldn’t have been given anything anyway, probably just for the attention. We then dropped him off at home and went to the movies, saw Death at a Funeral, which is very amusing and better to go and see than Losers.Another Short One But a Long Weekend
by Matt on Jun.02, 2010, under Blogs
Last Friday saw P, Rat Boy and I jumping on a train to head up north, well to Woolaston anyway. What the hell we going there for you scream, well we were visiting my parents who live there. Its crazy as I booked the train a few months ago and it worked out cheaper to go first class. Little P loved it and has vowed to always go first now, if you get something free then he just believes its the best thing ever!
running into the patio door at one point in his eagerness to get to the garden. On the Saturday it was pouring with rain, well what do you expect for a bank holiday weekend. So we headed to a farm shop (I think I am getting rather old as I really enjoy looking round the farm shops near where my mum lives, as if to compound this there was a cottage for sale and I fell in love with it, where did I put my knitting) but it was raining so hard that it was a right off so, much to Milo’s delight, we headed top the Pets at home store. Milo of course reigned havoc on us sniffing at everything and determined to bite through all the treats, food, toys and anything else that remotely looked chewable.
