Matt Unplugged

More Fish and (micro) Chips

by Matt on Jan.20, 2010, under Blogs

And so we are here again, another blog entry to write, another week gone as another begins. How philosophical was that?

I have the feeling this will be a rather short entry this week, as last week was rather quiet. Well I say last week, but in fact its latter of last beginning of this as I do the blog on  a Wednesday. Maybe we should change the calendar so as Wednesday is the first day of the week, would make things far easier in my opinion. So the Romans and all manner of people have had it wrong for centuries and I have it right, sounds reasonable!

Saturday I was at the salon, I finalised the Newsletter for them. But after I had spent ages playing with the spacing, getting it all formatted so it looked right, then checking the text etc I made the huge mistake of sending it to the girl who does the PR for the salon. Why do PR people always want to change anything you do, no matter what they have to have their bit of input, they do like to interfere in everything. I find the best policy is to just agree and let them do as they wish. They are a bit like HR, always busy bodying into everything to either ‘improve’ or as I put it ‘interfere, group hug and justify their existence’. Anyways I finally got it completed and hope it has gone out by now. Errol wasn’t there this Saturday which was rather disappointing, not because I was eager to see him but because my hair needed cutting, so I had to make do with one of the bloody artistic directors (what kind of a job title is that I ask you?). I am not overly happy as think that she has cut a little, well a bit, too much off personally, its shorter than I would have liked it. But at least it will grow, ever the optimist, or gullible one or other!

So after I had my hair butchered, massacred, ruined, I met P as he wanted to, come on Chuckles have a guess what he wanted to do, its your favourite topic to comment on, yes you got it, he wanted to go and eat. So we went to the Malaysian place on Charing Cross Road. I do like it there but as most of the food is Thai or Malaysian I tend to eat the same thing every time as don’t like spicy food. But it was nice none the less but think next time I will find something different to eat. The stay was nice though.

Last Sunday was pretty quiet, I had planned to go to the movies, but like most times I do that P decided he didn’t want to go. So I got on my bike (literally as it happens) and cycled to PC World.intel I had ordered a new internal DVDRW so wanted to collect it. I really would like to know how they manage to find such stupid people to work in these stores. I had the reference number of my order and after waiting 20 minutes in the queue (now here’s a thing, when there is a big queue why don’t more assistants come help rather than walking past or just sitting looking at the queue). So I waited 20 minutes, they gave me a box, I walked to the till, and thought ‘wait a minute this is PC World, known to be inept, useless, fools’ so I opened the box, guess what, I was right, they are complete idiots as it was the wrong one, so I had to wait more whilst this smiling twat went ad got the correct one, Tech Guys, more like Twat Guys.

So when I had got home, after I had ranted on about how useless PC World are I fitted the fishDVDRW, well almost, there was a cable missing, so rather than go back and be imprisoned for shoving a USB memory stick up some fools nose, I left it until Monday to get the cable, when I say get the cable I of course mean moan on and on until my best friend said he would go get it. Then P and I went on the trek to South of the river to the deepest darkest Lewisham. Why the hell you ask, well because there is a good pet shop there that sell fish so we went to get 2 more for the tank so we had the full quota. And jolly happy they all look together too, they have little chats, they play and have dinner parties in the tank, all is harmonious.

I am afraid my dear beloved readers that’s all the news for this week. Needless to say I have to say a big hello to T, oh I have to tell you this. We went and saw the movie 44 Inch Chest last week, well its full of swearing, fuck this, fuck that, cunt here, cunt there, within 3 minutes booth P and I looked at each other and said ‘T’. So a big hello to her, and to that Stan I suppose, bloody Sid is still a nuisance that has no idea of the concept of coming when called, he really should take a leaf out of Milo’s book who acts like an angel in comparison.

The Fantastic BOOM! has kept me going again this week, I hate the Tube sitting with all the miserable gits who just sit there looking moody, not smiling, like scenes from some dark sci-fi. So BOOM! in my ears is great, cheers me and gives me a better start to the day than any cereal ever could.
